Resident Parking Schemes (RPS)
The County Council has decided to take a more strategic approach to resident’s parking across the city of Cambridge.
Delivering these RPS schemes is a collaborative approach between the GCP
and the County Council, where the GCP develops, consults upon and
implements schemes and the County Council carries out the legal drafting of
the Traffic Regulation Orders (TRO), operation and enforcement of the
schemes. Further detail is set out in the County Council’s Resident Parking
Scheme Policy, and the Cambridge Resident Parking Schemes Delivery Plan.
They are currently working on Milton Road, York Road, Wilberforce Road, and the Romsey West area based on the responses to a consultation. However, one of the next priorities is the area around the Biomedical Campus and thus will affect residents in Queen Edith’s.
Timing will depend on the completion of the 4 areas currently being worked on and so is uncertain.
