Best Start Family Hubs
As part of the government’s strategy for improving child development, Cambridgeshire County Council has launched its first Family Hubs in Cambridge and 4 other places. The existing Child and Family Centres will change name and become known as Best Start Family Hubs, making it easier for families to get support when they need it.
Families will continue to be able to access the familiar groups, activities and support they already know, including stay and play sessions, health advice, infant feeding support, early learning activities and parenting advice. The new model will enhance this by creating a clearer, wider and more connected offer for families from pre-birth to 19, or up to 25 for young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
The Hub model will offer support for parents, carers, children and young people at different stages of family life. This can include parenting advice, health support, early learning and help navigating other local services.
