Addenbrookes Roundabout update 15
The further improvements planned for this week include:
- Traffic signals: the team will continue to install new traffic signals on the A1307 island. This will form an essential part of the upgraded junction layout, helping to improve both traffic flow and safety. Although now nearly in place, the new signals will remain switched off until the works are completed.
- Traffic island construction: the team will be constructing the new south traffic island on the A1307 leading out of the city. This feature is designed to improve crossing points for people walking and provide greater separation from traffic.
- Tactile paving: the team will be installing tactile paving to ensure the scheme meets accessibility standards, offering safer and clearer crossing points for the visually impaired.
- Kerb installation: the remaining edging kerbs will be set in place to complete the island layouts and prepare the area for surfacing works.
While works are ongoing, some temporary traffic management measures may remain in place. We will continue to monitor traffic flows and minimise disruption wherever possible.
