EV Pavement Channel Trial

EV Pavement Channel Trial

Following the signing and sealing of the EV Pavement Channel Grant Funding Agreement with the Combined Authority, the County Council will launch the trial on Monday 5th October 2026.

The council has already notified their register of interested residents of the confirmed launch date with details of how they can apply.

Interested residents will need to apply directly to the approved cable channel supplier, Kerbo Charge, who will manage the application process. Applications will be assessed on a first come first serviced basis until phase one allocations are filled. There are 50 installations available for phase one, 10 per district. Considering the limited number of trial spaces for phase one, we intend to take a ‘soft-launch’ approach. We have a significant number of residents who have already expressed an interest in the trial. We will then monitor trial spaces to consider if wider promotion is required.

We will monitor the progress of phase one over the next few months. If no issues are identified, we will look to swiftly move to phase two at the earliest opportunity. Phase two will deliver up to 200 additional channel installs across the county. We will provide an update on the trial as it progresses through the phases.

You can also visit the council’s website which has information on electric vehicles and details on the trial. For information about the approved cable channel supplier, please visit Kerbo Charge for details.
