Money for infrastructure: CIL consultation
Cambridge City Council and South Cambridgeshire District Council are proposing to introduce the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) – a charge that local authorities can apply to new development to help fund the infrastructure needed to support growth. A six week consultation started on Monday (16 February) – take a look at the Greater Cambridge Shared Planning Service website for more information or to comment: http://www.greatercambridgeplanning.org/cil
The amount of money that will be raised is considerable and it is important to secure this for Cambridge. If we don’t do it then the mayor is likely to do it and the money will be spent accross the whole of the CPCA area. I encourage you to respond positively in the consultation.
