Addenbrookes roundabout works 4
This is the latest update on the roadworks.
Work continues to progress well with further excavation taking place to allow for the carriageway to be widened, while drainage installation has also continued.
Temporary traffic signals around the roundabout were commissioned last week, with ducting and permanent signal poles due to be installed this week. The temporary signals will be in use from now until the completion of phase two of the programme, which should begin later in the summer. This is to minimise disruption to local residents and the programme by removing the need to temporarily remove them only to reinstall them later.
A range of other work is taking place this week including the full carriageway construction on the inner ring of the roundabout and new kerbing. In order to minimise future disruption, Light Blue Fibre ducting is also being installed to enable full fibre connectivity in the future.
As a reminder, traffic during the daytime is running as normal as all traffic management equipment is being removed from the roundabout during daytime hours.
And finally, the team remains committed to keeping noise levels to a minimum however there will be some unavoidable noise whilst works take place and we thank everyone for bearing with us.
