Cambridge South Station Opening
The Cambridge South train station opens on Sunday. I wanted to let you know about the traffic monitoring that will be done by the Campus to measure the effect of changes to the patterns of road traffic into and around the site each day.
In order to collect data on traffic movements, CBC Ltd have invested in and installed additional traffic sensors that will complement the sensors of the County Council off campus and the existing ANPR information captured by the CBC.
Given the importance of keeping Francis Crick Avenue in particular free from stopping traffic, measures to prevent vehicles from stopping along this roadway will also be implemented before the station opens by the management company.
Further advice is also available on the CBC webpage, here: Excitement builds as Cambridge South Station prepares to open | Cambridge Biomedical Campus)
It is expected that the findings and learning from the station opening will then be reported to and explored through the existing Campus Travel and Transport sub-group which includes county representatives. Please contact me if you have any concerns.
