Addenbrookes roundabout update 20
We reached an important milestone for the project this week, as the team installed the last street-lighting column on the site which allowed them to also complete the final area of asphalting.
The only remaining task is to complete the commissioning of the permanent traffic lights. To ensure all safety aspects are fully met, a joint approach with the Cambridgeshire County Council’s signals team has been agreed, allowing the transfer and testing of the signals to take place simultaneously next week. So the commissioning of the new signalling system is now provisionally scheduled for 25–26 November, with the temporary signal system to be decommissioned on 27–28 November.
The traffic-management arrangements will continue to be monitored closely during this period to ensure the safe movement of all roundabout users, which is why the temporary signals will remain until we are happy the permanent signal installation is fully completed and commissioned.
