Addenbrookes Roundabout Update 18
This week we’ve been progressing the white lining works on the roundabout and installing fence barriers and new permanent traffic signals. You might see in some places that new pedestrian signal poles are already in place, but we’ve bagged them for the time being so there’s no confusion, as they aren’t active yet. We’ve closed the pedestrian crossing on Hills Road, heading south toward Babraham, while we install the new permanent traffic poles. There are clearly marked diversion routes for pedestrians.
Next, we will complete the installation of new streetlighting columns, finish traffic signal works and loop cutting – where we replace the loops under the road which provide real time feedback for the traffic lights on the roundabout. We will also be carrying out final white lining and applying red asphalt at the traffic signal stop lines to improve cyclist visibility and safety.
