East West Rail – Commencement of ground investigation surveys
EWR Co has recently advised the Council that the first phase of ground investigations along the proposed railway route for East West Rail (EWR) will commence this month.
The ground investigations are expected to take place over several months, with the duration of individual surveys varying depending on the type of investigation. EWR Co has advised that measures are in place to manage any potential disruption to communities. These include limiting working hours to 8am-6pm, Monday to Friday, and laying trackway into fields to try and avoid mud being brought onto the roads. EWR Co also note that it is working closely with local landowners to make specific arrangements ahead of any ground investigations on their land. Additionally, parish councils have been contacted and EWR Co will keep them updated on the exact timings of the planned surveys.
Further information about regarding the investigations is available to view on the EWR webpage: eastwestrail.co.uk/gi2025
If you know anyone who may be concerned about responding to either request or has questions about the process, please encourage them to contact EWR Co. by emailing contact@eastwestrail.co.uk or calling 0330 134 0067.
